Cape Leveque Photography Tour

This self-drive Photography Tour gives you the ability to choose your own style of accommodation and drive your own 4WD over the 3 days. Explore your photographic potential on the beautiful Dampier Peninsula the home of Cape Leveque.

We meet in our 4WD’s at the Broome Visitors Centre to travel the red Pindan road to Beagle Bay, for our first shoot at the beautiful Beagle Bay church and it pearl shell interior. We then explore the surrounds of Middle Lagoon and Pender Bay on our way to our Eco Retreat where we are greeted with a warm welcome. Sunset shoot on the beach over looking Pender Bay.

Day two we travel north along the Cape Leveque Road towards the award winning Kooljaman at Cape Leveque Resort.Travelling along the 4WD bush tracks we will have the opportunity for a range of images including landscape and wildlife.Be prepared for whatever nature will throw at us.Late afternoon we head off to our sunset shoot location, the rich red Pindan cliffs overlooking West Beach at Cape Leveque.

The night sky is amazingly clear up here and we make the most of our astro photography opportunities.

During this tour our days will revolve around the sunrise and sunset, the big tides and of course the time of year, so a flexible itinerary is a must in this region.

During the 3 days we offer optional tours that may appeal to photographers; a scenic flight to the Horizontal Falls that will take off from Kooljaman airstrip for a spectacular flight over the 1,000 island of the Buccaneer Archipelago, a whale watching cruise (June to Sept) to get amazing Humpback Whale interaction shots or join a Aboriginal guided 4WD tagalong tour to a remote beach.

If time allows we will head over to the eastern side of Cape Leveque to Ardyaloon Community at One Arm Point. Here you will have the opportunity to photograph some amazing landscapes and massive tidal movements as the waters squeeze through the island of King Sound.
