10 Day Kimberley Coastal

Nature Photography Adventure

12 June 2023- spots available

Searching for 8 adventurous souls to join me for this amazing 10 Days of nature photography and adventure along the southern Kimberley Coast in Western Australia

This small group of photography adventurers will be treated to amazing natural encounters like spring fed waterfalls, coastal gorges, towering cliff faces, tidal waterfalls and huge racing tides.

There will be crocodiles, sealife and birds, beach landings and walks to waterfalls.  At night we will do some astro photography, and during the day we will find those special spots to throw in a line and catch probably the biggest fish you have ever caught.

Visit iconic Kimberley locations like Montgomery Reef, Horizontal Waterfalls, Sale River, Ruby Falls and the outer islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago.

We have two tenders, with plenty of room for photographers to move around, that get us into hidden locations for stunning photography opportunities at sunrise and sunset and every hour in between.

This tour starts in Broome and finishes in Broome.

DAY 2 to 9

Though there is no set itinerary for this trip, it is a carefully curated photographic adventure all the same, where we visit both the iconic and the little known remote locations on the coast with daily photographic activities planned around the sunrise, sunset and tide.

On a typical day we will head out for our first shoot before the sun lights up the islands, beaches and azure sea of the Kimberley Coast.

Each day will include a short steam with the tide through an amazing Archipelago where every turn reveals a unique vision.

The voyage is planned to take in as many photographic opportunities as possible and arrive at each anchorage at the best possible time to enjoy the photography, swimming, bush walking, waterfall immersion, wildlife interaction or just the peace and quiet.

We aim to have at least three excursions per day.  And we have use of two tenders that can take us exploring. There is a multitude of different stunning locations to keep us happy capturing landscapes, birds, waterfalls, wildlife, sunrise, sunset and astro-photography.

Catch the outgoing tide to the famous Montgomery Reef. Watch the water recede and the 400 square km of reef rise out of the water creating many bubbling cascades. See the myriad of reef life including Dugongs, Turtles, and schools of tropical fishes. Jump in for an exciting drift snorkel through coral canyons.

Visit the beautiful Ruby Falls for a swim and climb up to explore the headwaters. Swim in Lilly lined pools draped by fragrant Weeping Paperbarks.

Ride the incoming tide into the steep sandstone gorges of the Sale River in the tenders. This is one of the most beautiful rivers in the Kimberley. Get above the highest rock bar on the top of the tide where the freshwater meets the salt, cast for a Barramundi.

After sunset the water column at the rear of the boat gradually comes to life with a wild variety of sea life for your viewing pleasure.

As our adventure progresses we can gather oysters, go mud crabbing or fishing when tide and time allows. These fruits of the sea will be prepared by our passionate cook.

DAY 10 - FINAL DAY

Wednesday 21st June 2023

On our last day we steam with the incoming tide through King Sound to Derby.  From here we will be transferred by chartered bus back to Broome and be dropped off at the accommodation of your choice.  We can meet up for dinner at a local restaurant to recount our adventures and say farewell to our fellow adventurers.
